While we all think we know what a Private Weight Loss Coach is; what do YOU do?

Oh my – what is it that I don’t do for my ladies? Honestly whatever they need to be successful, I do. I help them change that nasty little voice in their head from being their worst critic to being their biggest fan. I help them plan meals and eating and exercise. And I hold their booties accountable to all of that. That can mean interviewing personal trainers to find one that’s an awesome fit to arranging meal delivery to talking them away from a pint of ice cream after a fight with her husband. Honestly it’s anything and everything that moves them forward toward their goal.

 

What types of clients do you work with?

I only work with the fairer sex – WOMEN! Most of my clients are in their 40’s. It’s that time when most of us say, “what the hell” and want to take back control our bodies and our lives. My clients tend to be moms who are ready to put a little more focus on themselves or high-powered career women who, again, are ready to put a little more focus on themselves.

 

What types of programs do you have to help women lose weight and stay healthy?

Women usually fall into one of two “desire” categories for their weight loss: they want to LOSE 10 POUNDS or they want to LOSE MORE THAN 10 POUNDS. So my programs are designed for both of those two groups.

 

What is your secret weapon for losing 10 pounds in 30 days? 

Damn – I wish I had a super secret, magic weapon for weight loss! There isn’t one – despite what all the diet and meal replacement plans will tell you. But y’know what works and what’s missing in most weight loss programs? ACCOUNTABILITY and PERSONALIZATION. One-size-fits-all diets and exercise routines are miserable and they don’t work because they’re hard to stick with for more than a couple days.

With my programs you get help whenever, wherever you need. You won’t get frustrated and quit – I won’t let you. The group won’t let you. We’ll hold your hand. You won’t be discouraged and give up.

Do people have to live in Southern California to work with you?

Nope. With the power of technology, I coach women all over the world. It’s beautiful!

 

What do you love most about what you do?

Don’t get me started – I can talk about this all night!

The best part of what I do is watching the weight burden lift. When her weight is no longer an issue, she can be free to be herself! She can be free to be a magnificent mom, a sensual partner, an energetic career woman and an adventurous friend!

When her weight is no longer a consideration, magical life shifts happen.

 

What are some misperceptions people have about your line of work?

There’s so much BS about weight loss. False promises. Gimmicks. Fads. It’s so crazy.

I keep it really real and coach my clients about the ups and downs of weight loss. If you deal in reality (not crazy promises), the whole process is much more enjoyable and less frustrating. When you expect to lose 5 pounds a week, you’re disappointed when the scale only shows 1 pound lost. That’s just crazy.

 

Besides losing weight, what are the benefits of working with you?

My clients get their mojo back. There’s a bounce in their step and a glimmer in their eyes that hasn’t been there for  long time. It’s confidence and swagger! It’s similar to that feeling when you buy a new, fierce pair of shoes – only 100 times more intense.

When people work with you, does that mean that they have to buy weird food at the grocery store and eat all crazy recipes?

Oh for crying out loud – no! I’m a simple gal and recommend basic, but yummy meals and snacks. Those frozen and dehydrated diet foods are ridiculous. They have very little nutrients and they’re loaded with chemicals and pesticides. Your body hates that – and it actually causes your body to hold onto the weight.

Real whole foods that your great-grandma ate are what keep you thin and healthy – veggies, lean protein, whole grain and fruit.

Most of our clients are frequently featured in the media, are keynote speakers and authors. What advice do you have for them to ensure they look and feel their best while in the spotlight?

First is to take care of yourself always – not just when there’s a big event coming up. It’s hard to feel and look good when you’ve not been tending to yourself for weeks and months.

But to prep for a big event, do these 5 things for 1-2 weeks and you’ll be feeling and looking much better:

1. Increase the amount of water you’re drinking

2. Add big servings of fresh veggies and fruit into your meals

3. Cut back on highly processed foods: packaged foods, frozen meals, canned foods, ready-to-eat stuff, pre-made meals

4. Cut back on sugar, alcohol and caffeine

5. Drink green juice!

 

Can you share a few tips for busy people who are traveling for work and entertaining clients for 2-3 weeks a month where eating out 2 times a day is “the norm”?

Veggies are your friend and travel with food.

When eating at restaurants, eat as many veggies as humanly possible and combine it with a lean protein. That doesn’t have to be a salad either. Restaurants are very accommodating these days because so many people have food allergies. A trick is to order appetizers (shrimp cocktail is a super one) and sides of veggies. And even multiple sides of veggies to fill up your plate and your stomach.

Don’t ever leave for a road trip without packing your own snacks. Going into a situation where you’re hungry is just bad news. I love Lara and KIND bars, apples, oranges, individual servings of almond butter and individual servings of raw almonds.

 

Bonus Question:

If you were throwing a dinner party and could only invite 6 people, who would fill those seats?
